Resin bonded driveways is just one of Star Uretech’s many areas of expertise, and one which is becoming more desirable as homeowners and offices choose to have safe, easily maintained surfaces around their buildings.
What are resin bonded driveways?
Star Uretech uses innovative and in some cases, patented, technology to provide a variety of surfaces and finished for its clients. The company can provide two main types of bonding:
Fully bonded – all gravel, stones or other material is fully coated in resin. This results in a 3D matrix of bonded aggregate, which can be used in applications where water needs to get through the bonding to the subsoil below. This type of bonding is used in decorative pathways, tree bases, hard landscaping and resin bonded driveways.
Coat and scatter – in this method, a coat of resin is applied to the surface and the chosen aggregate is scattered on the top whilst the resin is still wet. Although a variety of substrates can be used for coat and scatter, such as wood, tarmac or metal, concrete is the preferred base. Resin bonded driveways can also be approached in this manner.
In both cases, resin bonded driveways that are coated in this way give the impression of loose aggregate, but remove the problems of the aggregate moving around or being carried off the driveway by shoes, tyres and other usage. It also makes the driveway much easier to maintain, because leaves, dirt and litter cannot get stuck or buried under the aggregate.
